Minister of Culture of the Government of Mexico since December 2018. Alejandra Frausto has a degree in Law from the National Autonomous University of Mexico and since 1998 she has been dedicated to the promotion and management of culture in Mexico, always convinced that culture is the most powerful tool to transform a society. Previously, she has Director of Culture of the state of Guerrero, where she created the project of Culture as a Strategy for Social Transformation, and the Renaissance Children’s Orchestra and Choir. In 2013, she was appointed General Director of Popular Cultures of the then CONACULTA (Mexico’s Cultural Council), now the Ministry of Culture, from where she managed to implement public policies focused on the development of the country’s popular cultures and arts, which contributed to the social transformation of the communities.
