Andrew Gilmour is currently Executive Director of the Berghof Foundation, an organisation based in Berlin involved in mediation and conflict transformation at all levels of society and government. Until last year, he was the United Nations Assistant Secretary-General for Human Rights.  He spent 30 years at the UN in a number of field positions (Iraq, Palestine, Afghanistan, South Sudan, the Balkans, and West Africa) and at UN Headquarters in New York. Gilmour has Masters degrees from Oxford and the London School of Economics and has published widely.
