Egly Pantelakis

Egly Pantelakis is Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Culture.
She attended the Cyprus National Music Conservatory graduating with diplomas in piano teaching and performance including an L.R.S.M. After studying economics at the LSE she studied for a postgraduate degree in Administrative Sciences at City University, London and completed the Workshop in Environmental Economics at Harvard’s Institute for International Development. She has worked at the Planning Bureau of the Cypriot Government and was Director of Planning in the Directorate of Development Policy. She also served as National Coordinator for the promotion of the Lisbon Strategy and was Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture. She has represented Cyprus at the Council of Ministers of the European Union, served as a member of the Town Planning Commission and on the Board of Directors of the European Lifelong Learning Programmes Foundation and chaired the Board of Directors of the Agricultural Insurance Organization. Currently she chairs the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra and is President of the Board of Directors of the Museum Costas Argyrou. She is also a member of the Board of Trustees of the Cyprus Institute and member of the Commonwealth Partnership for Technology Management.
