Emma Ruse, 22, is an active member of Scotland’s National Youth Arts Advisory Group (NYAAG) and has been since the group’s creation in 2014. The NYAAG works with Creative Scotland and Young Scot advising on Scottish Youth Arts Policy and the Time to Shine Strategy. In 2018, Emma was a member of Communic18, and a Culture theme leader for Scotland’s Year of Young People. As part of this she visited the European Parliament for the European Youth Event and facilitated a workshop there. She has also attended the EICS in 2016 and 2018 as a speaker and rapporteur respectively.

Outside of her voluntary work with cultural policy, Emma is about to enter her third year at Queen Margaret University studying Drama and Performance. She is also the Producer of Framework Theatre Company, a new company focusing on amplifying female Scottish voices.
