Heba Alwadi was born in Syria, and lives in Scotland. She is studying psychology at Glasgow Caledonian University. In addition to her studies, she is a mediator with Liverpool University’s SH+ (Self Help Plus) and is actively involved in various initiatives which raise awareness of mental health and limit the stigma of seeking mental health services. She is a co-founder of “Jasmine and Thistle”, a refugee-led community support group in Glasgow. She has performed as part of the internationally acclaimed Trojan Women Project – a ground-breaking advocacy project for refugees to tell their own stories through drama.
