Matt Hancock

Matt Hancock was appointed Minister of State for Digital and Culture at the Department for Culture, Media and Sport in July 2016. On becoming an MP in 2010, he served on the Public Accounts Committee before his appointment as Minister for Skills in the Department for Business and Education in 2012. 2013 saw his promotion to Minister

of State for Skills and Enterprise, and then Minister of State for Business, Enterprise and Energy. From May 2015 until July 2016, Matt served as Minister for the Cabinet Office and Paymaster General. Prior to his political career, Matt worked as an economist at the Bank of England and for (then) Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osborne. Matt gained a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Exeter College, University of Oxford, and a Masters Degree in Economics from the University of Cambridge.
