Sarah Yearsley

Scotland Coordinator
Engage

Sarah Yearsley is the Scotland Coordinator for Engage, the National Association for Gallery Education. She has a particular interest in the ways that people engage with contemporary visual art and the methods that galleries use to facilitate access to and enjoyment of the visual arts.

Before joining Engage, Sarah managed the Contemporary Art Society’s National Collecting Scheme for Scotland. Sarah started her career at the National Museum of Photography, Film & Television, (now the National Science & Media Museum), in Bradford, with roles including marketing and public relations, fundraising and collections access. As well as her role with Engage, Sarah and her husband run a busy deli and restaurant in the small Perthshire town of Dunkeld and Sarah is a member of the board at Birnam Arts. With a degree in French and Spanish from Leeds University, Sarah sometimes feels that her training as a linguist comes in useful in translating ‘contemporary art speak’.
