Sistema Scotland – Big Noise Scotland

Special Performances

Sistema Scotland works with some of Scotland’s most challenged communities through its Big Noise orchestra programme. Since 2007, Sistema Scotland – Big Noise has become a nationally significant arts charity which now operates four Big Noise centres and works with over 2,800 children and young people throughout Scotland.

Each Big Noise centre initially engages with children from Nursery and Primary 1 and 2 classes to build core skills such as listening, concentration, rhythm, teamwork and learning to play an instrument.

For children beyond Priamry 2, Big Noise becomes an intensive and immersive programme of after-school and holiday club teaching, performance and social interaction.

Since 2013, Big Noise has been independently evaluated by the Glasgow Centre for Population Health which has consistently observed a wide range of academic, social and psychological benefits to the many participants in its programmes.
