Deputy Minister Park Younggoog is Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Korea. He graduated from Seoul National University with a Bachelor of Law and attained a Masters in Legal Institutions at University of Wisconsin Law School, USA.
His government career began in 1989 as Deputy Director at the Ministry of Government Administration. From 1995 to 1997 he served as Consul General in New York. From 1997
to 2007 he worked in various senior roles in government public relations, press liaison, communications and news analysis including the Office of the President. From 2007 he served overseas again, this time as Minister-Counsellor to the embassy in Canada before taking up post as Secretary-General at Korea’s National University of Arts. He has been in the Ministry of Culture since 2012 serving in various areas as Director-General before taking up post as Director-Assistant Minister of Korean Culture and Information Service in 2015. He was appointed Deputy Minister in April.
