Ea Sola

Artist and Choreographer
Ea Sola Dance Company

Artist, choreographer and author Ea Sola undertook five years of research in Vietnam, from 1990 to 1995, on the memory of the war as a question of the awakening of consciousness, before beginning to create stage works inspired by her idea. Ea’s works explore traditional Vietnamese culture and the emergence of the individual from collective thinking.

In her quest to find the intimate and poetic from the tragic, she has worked with both artists and ordinary people who lived through the Vietnam War. Since 1995, her work on the memory has led to the creation of ten stage works, an exhibition/installation Champs d’Oublis (Forgotten Field), and the novel Partition Silencieuse (Silent Partition).
