Her Excellency Yamina Karitanyi is Rwanda’s High Commissioner to the UK and non-resident Ambassador (designate) to Ireland. Prior to her posting to London, Ambassador Karitanyi was at the helm of the Tourism and Conservation portfolios at the Rwanda Development Board – a Government agency mandated with fast-tracking economic development. During her tenure as Head of Tourism and Conservation, the Board developed programmes to improve tourism, including the reintroduction of lions in Akagera National Park. In 2012, she was appointed High Commissioner to Kenya

and during her term, trade and diplomatic relations between the two countries were significantly enhanced. She has held various senior positions over 10 years including GoodWorks International, a consultancy that advises multinational corporations and governments in the USA and East Africa. She has also been a marketing analyst at Carrier Corporation. Ambassador Karitanyi holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Studies from Buffalo State College, USA, and an MBA from Rochester Institute of Technology, USA. She is fluent in English, French, Kinyarwanda and Swahili.
